In 1869 Dimitri Mendeleev presented the first periodic table of elements to the Russian Chemical Society.
His original table had a lot of gaps in it where he calculated that other, as yet unknown, elements would fit.
His calculations were so accurate that although there were only 47 known elements at the time he accurately predicted the properties of all later discovered elements !
There are now 117 known elements.

So is this song, but it’s bloody funny all the same !
