14th June 1928 – 9th October 1967

Ernesto Guevara was an Argentinian Maxist revolutianary, physician, author, diplomat, millitary theorist, guerilla leader & a major figure in the cuban revolution. He met Rual & Fidel Castro in Mexico City and joined them when they sailed to Cuba aboard the yacht Granma to overthrow the US backed dictator Fulgencio Batista.

He was premoted to second in command & played a prominent role in the two year campaign to depose Batista. After Castro took power Guevara held many posts in the new government including  minister of industries, national bank president & instructional
director for Cuba’s armed forces.

Guevara left Cuba in 1965 to incite revolutions, first unsuccessfully in
Congo-Kinshasa and later
in Bolivia
where he was captured by CIA
-assisted Bolivian forces and

"I don’t care if I fall as long as someone else picks up my gun and keeps shooting."
