THOUSANDS TURN OUT FOR STUART CABLE’S FUNERAL.

Stuart Cable, the ex-drummer with The Stereophonics, died aged 40 on 7th June and on Monday his funeral was held in his home town of Aberdare. As well as friends and family, thousands of fans lined the streets as the horse-drawn carriage took his coffin, decorated with an AC/DC trade mark lightening flash, to Saint Elvan’s church where a private service was held. The service was relayed to the crowds outside by loudspeakers and contained a mixture of Welsh hymns & rock music.

I was never a massive Stereophonics fan but I enjoyed his BBC Wales chat show, Cable TV. He was a very funny man and was clearly well loved by many in Wales. He will be saddly missed.
