Due to a servere case of not remembering I forgot to mention last Thursday that it was raining.
Not usually a noteworthy event here in sunny Britain but last Thursday was Saint Swithin’s Day & as the legend goes if it rains on St Swithins Day it will rain for the next forty days.

St Swithun’s day if thou dost rain, for forty
days it will remain.

St Swithun’s day if thou be fair, for
forty days ’twill rain nae mare

Typical British summer then !

How the legend came about no one really knows but there is some scientific basis to it, so get your wellies out & meanwhile here is a little ditty to cheer you up.

About An Elephant's Child

Like the elephant's child I am filled with insatiable curiousity. I REALLY AM THE PERSON YOUR MOTHER WARNED YOU ABOUT.
